Chengdu East Railway Station is one of the largest railway passenger hubs in Southwest China and serves as the core passenger station in Chengdu's "four main and three auxiliary" railway hub layout. In 2025, the station maintained high passenger traffic throughout the year, handling a total of 9.256 million passengers during the Spring Festival travel season with an average of 231,000 passengers per day. It operates approximately 310 train pairs daily, serving around 199,000 passengers per day on average. The station is the starting and terminal point for multiple trunk high-speed railways, including the Chengdu-Chongqing, Xi'an-Chengdu, and Chengdu-Guiyang High-Speed Railways, providing direct connections to major cities across China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, and Guiyang.
