As a key 4F-level international aviation hub in Western China, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport serves as the region's core international passenger gateway. In 2025, the airport handled 56.69 million passengers, ranking 5th nationwide and 1st in Central and Western China. Combined with Shuangliu Airport, the total throughput exceeded 90 million, solidifying Chengdu's position as China's "Third Aviation City". In terms of network connectivity, Tianfu operates 62 international and regional passenger routes and 13 cargo routes. Together with Shuangliu, Chengdu now boasts 85 regular direct international cargo and passenger routes, maintaining the top spot in Central and Western China. In 2025, international and regional passenger traffic reached 6.49 million (ranking 4th nationwide). Recently, new direct flights to Vientiane, Laos and Brussels, Belgium have further expanded its global network.
