As a key 4F-level international aviation hub in Western China, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport handled 33.52 million passengers in 2025, a 3.4% increase year-on-year, ranking 12th nationwide. The airport operates two terminals: T1 and T2. T1 resumed operations on February 24, 2025, following a major upgrade that introduced smart facilities like AGV automated baggage sorting systems and millimeter-wave security scanners. T2, covering 350,000 square meters, is designed to handle 50 million passengers annually. Currently, 10 airlines operate from Shuangliu, with carriers like China Southern increasing flight frequency on business routes to Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to achieve shuttle-like service.
